Emma Hermina M. Black Lethbridge (1893-1986) wrote under the pen name 'Hermina Black'. She was a prolific writer of romance, especially Hospital Romances, often the Nurse & Doctor romances that were so popular in the mid 20th Century. 

She made an extensive contribution to the romance genre with over seventy titles to her name, Black's career spanned from the late 1940's to the 1980's...

Black's literary journey began at a tender age, as she penned her first story at the age of fourteen. Fuelled by her passion for writing, she crafted approximately seventy novels, each bearing the hallmark of her affection for strong love stories intertwined with a mysterious backdrop and a blissful conclusion.

Black's works offer an escape from the tumultuous nature of modern life, inviting readers into a world of respite and heartfelt emotion. At the time of writing most of her books she was residing in Hampshire, England, dedicating her time to her beloved hobbies of reading and book-collecting, all the while nurturing a deep fondness for her readership. She had a deep love for America and had many American and Australian fans of her books as well as fans in the United Kingdom.

Many of Hermina Blacks books were published as titles for the Romance Book Club in the 1960's and 1970's and remain popular today.
