This first edition (first printing) of a vintage Babar book comes to you in bright and fresh condition for a vintage children's book that was published in the 1990's.

In this thrilling tale, as per the title, brave Babar goes to battle. In a classic good against evil plot we have our favourite elephant Babar standing up to the wicked witch and his nemesis the cunning Rhinoceros Rataxes - Boo! The elephant armour is beautiful to behold as daring Babar takes on his foe who has been spoiling the fun in Celesteville by trying to steal the precious water.

We have it all in this boisterous children's story, good triumphing over evil, the importance of loyalty, friendship and bravery and the environmental importance of water. And of course all beautifully illustrated with the colourful fun animal illustrations that children love.

Jean de Brunhoff created the Babar character in the 1930's his son Laurent de Brunhoff took great delight in continuing Babar's story and this large glossy hardback book was first published by Random House in 1992 in the USA.

If your child loves animal stories and is interested in the importance of environment this sweet vintage Babar the Elephant book is sure to enchant at bedtime story time. Babar's Battle is a book written by Laurent De Brunhoff, featuring the beloved character Babar the elephant. In this story, Celeste suspects that Babar's enemy, Rataxes the rhinoceros, is up to no good. The elephants discover that their beautiful lake is being drained, and their water supply is being cut off. Rataxes, under the influence of a wicked witch, forces the elephants into battle. Babar, the courageous elephant king, engages in single combat with Rataxes and ultimately defeats the rhinoceros, who had taken advantage of the situation.

A nice little moral and environmental message wrapped up in this thrilling Babar the Elephant Bedtime Story sure to delight any animal (especially elephant) loving child.

Interior pages are all clean and bright and not creased or damaged in anyway a couple of small marks to the front endpapers but the interior of the book is clean and unworn and the illustrated pages lovely and bright .
