The classic children's story of the beautiful horse Black Beauty and his friend Ginger and his life as a horse in 19th century England. Black Beauty, is a heartwarming tale of a Beautiful Black Horse from it's early days as a foal through its trials and hard life even working as a cabby horse to the final happy ending. This is a version of the classic novel adapted for young children.

The unabridged version of this story was written in the Victorian Times and was one of the first novels to raise awareness about Animal Rights, in the Victorian Era many people saw animals just as 'Dumb Creatures' that had no feelings or intelligence. Black Beauty was an innovative novel as it was written as if the horse itself was telling the story a timeless classic no animal loving child should miss out on.

Anna Sewell wrote one of the first recognised 'Animal Rights' books in the form of this novel Black Beauty originally entitled an Autobiography of a Horse. She wished to draw attention to the plight of working animals and the mistreatment they were subjected to in Victorian England. This lighthearted children's version is a heartwarming story ideal for bedtime especially if your child is horse mad!
