Face to Face with China Photographs by Cecil Beaton Vintage First Edition Hardback book. The Culture of China in the early 1900's. Black and White Photographic plates by renowned photographer Cecil Beaton making a contrast between China and the West.

Interestingly, as the book was published in the time of World War II there is a special 'Book Production War Economy Standard' statement at the front of the book.

The book is written by Rev H B Rattenbury who also wrote Understanding China, China My China and Through Chinese Eyes. The book is full of fascinating historical facts about China and is a snapshot in time of the Culture of China in the early to mid 1900's and wartime years.

The author flew to China in 1939 during the Japanese Invasion and spent several mercy missions there. The book is written from first hand experience of the author who really lived in China at this time. Original price to the book 10/6 net.

EDIT VERY GOOD:

This is fresh from the attic in very good vintage condition .

The matt boards are a little rubbed at the corners and slightly bumped at the top and bottom of the spine.

All the pages are sharp and clean with no messy graffiti of any kind.

Spine Intact with titles visible and minor wear.

Matt board Covers are firm and good with minimal scuffing. Original Price of 24p on back board.
