Author Bio & Publication

Leigh Douglass Bracket 1915 - 1978 wrote a profuse amount of Sci Fi novels as well as screenplays.

Famously she was involved with the Star Wars films working with George Lucas in the 1970's. Interestingly, even though Lucas rejected her last screenplay many of the themes and story lines she included would later ( sadly posthumously to Brackett) become part of some of the most epic instalments in the Star Wars series of films.

She was dubbed the "Queen of Space Opera" not the least because her stories often included an element of romance and rich character development that was often missing in some of the more anodyne Science Fiction of the 1960's and 1970's eras.

If you have not read her novels before give them a go, you might be surprised at how entertaining they are.
