This is fresh from the attic in used but excellent vintage condition.

Typically of all paperbacks of this era the pages are tanned and like all vintage paperbacks the book is a little fragile but this kind of adds to the charm!

No Name Inscription or damage of any kind.

All the pages are sharp and clean with no messy graffiti of any kind. Text block is clean and firm.

Spine Intact with titles visible and minor wear.

Pictorial card covers are firm and good with minimal scuffing just a tiny crease to one corner. Original Price of 45p on back board.

Please remember this vintage book has been loved before and is not new condition is graded taking this into consideration.

Brilliant and haunting as to be expected from Oscar Wilde these are classics you and your children will remember all your life.

These classic stories are not in the modern taste rather a highly sentimental style of children's literature typical of the late 19th and early 20th century. The tales are infused with morality and Christian belief. Many are a little maudlin but it is worth remembering that Oscar did some of his writing whilst tragically being in Prison, spending time at Pentonville, Wandsworth and finally Reading Gaol where he wrote De Profundis in his last year there.

The book recommends that they can be read aloud to children of six or older but the stories are so beautiful you may just want a copy of this book of Oscar Wilde's Fairy Stories for your own book collection!

Prepare yourself for tears though! The Happy Prince is a tale you will never forget.
