Jane Austen Classic Novel Mansfield Park Penguin Paperback Vintage Book 2003
Nice quality vintage paperback of Jane Austen's Mansfield Park. One of her all time great novels set in the Regency Era. Published by Penguin Classics in 2003 with interesting notes this makes a great study copy.
Mansfield Park first published in 1814. It tells the story of Fanny Price, a young girl from a humble background who is sent to live with her wealthy relatives at Mansfield Park, her aunt and uncle, Sir Thomas and Lady Bertram. The novel explores themes of social class, morality, and the role of women in society. At Mansfield Park our heroine Fanny, is initially treated as an inferior by her relatives. She forms a close bond with her cousin Edmund, who becomes her closest confidant and ally throughout the novel. Fanny's quiet and reserved nature sets her apart from the more vivacious and assertive characters in the story in direct contrast to many of Austen's other female characters.
In this classic vintage book by Jane Austen she skillfully explores the themes of love, duty, and social conventions of the Georgian Era. Fanny's journey is one of personal growth and self-discovery as she learns to navigate the complex world of Mansfield Park and the societal expectations placed upon her.
Editorial Review:
