Traditional Fairytale of the maiden who could spin straw into Gold. Presented in this Vintage Ladybird Book from series 606D, 'Well Loved Tales', with Matt Boards. This favourite fairy tale was made most famous by the Brothers Grimm although the actual story is believed to date well back into the 16th Century.

In this lovely vintage Ladybird book we see the colourful full page illustrations that made these books so popular with children in years gone past.

As with all traditional fairy tales it begins: "Once upon a time..." The story tells the tale of the miller's daughter who is taught to spin straw into gold by a mischievous imp.

Written by Vera Southgate this book is truly a vintage ladybird classic from the sought after Well Loved Tales series that so many of us loved as children and their appeal remains today. Perfect little bedtime story book.

This is fresh from the attic in excellent vintage condition . The matt boards have the teeniest rubs at the corners and spine is worn slightly at the top. All pages are sharp and clean with no messy graffiti of any kind. Matt board Covers are firm and good with minimal scuffing. Original Price of 40p on back board.
