Very nice vintage paperback book of Sense and Sensibility, Jane Austen's classic novel that was first published in 1811. This vintage paperback appears unread and comes to you in great condition perfect for a reading or study copy of this all time favourite and one of Austen's most beloved works. The paperback presents nicely with the 18th century portrait of the McIlvaine sisters on the cover looking just as we might imagine the Dashwood sisters to have appeared.
The book revolves around the lives and romantic pursuits of the Dashwood sisters, Elinor and Marianne. Sense and Sensibility explores the stark contrast between the two sisters' personalities and approaches to life. Elinor represents sense, exhibiting prudence, rationality, and emotional control. Marianne, on the other hand, embodies sensibility, displaying passion, impulsive behavior, and intense emotions. As they navigate the challenges and complexities of love, societal expectations, and personal growth, the sisters learn valuable lessons about finding the right balance between reason and sensibility.
