Fantastic Old Cowboy Story of the Wild West, 'The Sheriff of Elk Ridge'.

First Edition 1930s Vintage Wild West book by Mason Macrae. Hardback with dust jacket in Great Condition. Fabulous display item or prop for a wild western theme and good collectable book.

The story centres around a fight for water rights, an evil and crooked banker and a cowboy cattle rancher turned outlaw who becomes hero. Exciting Gun fights with a fast shooting sheriff and two pretty girls makes this a classic tale of the old West. That is if you want to read it as this fabulous vintage book just looks fantastic on a bookshelf!

Vintage Advertisement for Cadbury's Bourn-Vita, 'Promotes Sleep, Strengthens Nerves!', on the last page. Perhaps it was deemed necessary after this thrilling book in the style of spaghetti western meets 1930's film noir!

"An ominous, brooding hush suddenly blanketed the customers of the Elk Pleasure Palace. Play at the gambling tables ceased abruptly and men's eyes became riveted on the three figures at the bar. Glasses were either gripped tightly in knotted fingers or pushed aside as if the purchaser has lost all interest in wetting the dryness of his throat.

Red Kyles tapering hands, sun-cooked, dun coloured, were hanging loosely at his sides, the fingers close to the walnut stocked buttls of his Colts. His brown eyes narrowed to slits, were concentrating on the close-set beady black ones of the scarred and pockmarked man facing him, Cyanide Potter."
