This is nostalgic trip for any of us who loved the Nancy Drew books as young girls. They were clearly aimed at the younger end of the teenage girl's reading market and in an era very much unlike today.

Some of the language and moral concepts are outdated as things have moved on since the 1930's when the first edition of 'The Clue of the Tapping Heels' was released but casting all that aside the book is a classic Nancy romp as she investigates this exciting mystery with her friends. "'LAND sakes, Nancy, there's so much commotion in this house a body can't even think!'

Hannah Gruen, a housekeeper for Carson Drew and his daughter, paused in the doorway of the living room to regard the golden-haired girl who was tap dancing. The radio was on, and Nancy's heels were clicking a clever accompaniment to the gay music.
Tap! Tap!Tap!
'Dear me, I don't see how you can make your feet fly so fast,' Hannah declared in awe. "I suppose you're practicing for some entertainment.'

Nancy Drew laughed as she continued keeping time to the music. Her deep blue eyes sparkled with excitement and her golden curls shone.

'No, Mrs Gruen,' she replied, 'this is for my own entertainment. I'm trying to tap out words.'
'Words !'
'Just listen!' said the girl excitedly. She executed a little dance routine. 'I'm tapping out a message....'"

Robust edition of this vintage book from the late 1940's.

Various signs of general wear but overall tight and firm with good clean pages to the interior.

Some light dust staining to the outer edge of the book's text block and mild rubbing to the board edges and top and bottom of the spine where the book shows its age the most.

The pages are all good and clean to the interior with just some mild tanning to the decorative endpapers.

Dust Jacket in very good condition with just the occasional nick and light rubbing and fading and mild dust staining to the spine.

No graffiti other than the neat contemporary gift inscription to the First Free Endpaper.
