1970's copy of 'The Wizard of Oz' that was first published in the USA in 1940. Who can ever forget the beautiful Judy Garland playing Dorothy with her glittering red shoes. This book introduces your child to the wonderful characters of the Tin Woodman, the Scarecrow and the Cowardly Lion.

They're off to see the Wizard! "I'm going to the great Oz to ask him to give me brains," announces the Scarecrow. "I'm going to ask for a heart." says the Tin Woodman. "And I'm going to ask him to send me back to Kansas" adds Dorothy. "Do you think he could give me courage?" asks the Cowardly Lion. The Wonderful Wizard of Oz can do everything - they think. So Dorothy and her friends set off down the yellow brick road through the dark scary forest and the deadly poppy field towards the Emerald City. And what a surprise awaits them when they come face to face with Oz the Terrible himself!

The book was written in the 1940's so the way of life today has changed greatly. Funny stories children love still have the same appeal though. This is a lovely innocent tale full of fun and frolics about the importance of loyal friendship, love of a pet, courage and companionship and longing for home.
