The Agatha Christie Hour First Edition Collection of Short Stories Published by Collins in 1982 from the Thames Television Series Contains a Previously Unpublished Short Story.

This great selection of original Agatha Christie short stories was collected together and broadcast as a Television series in the 1980's, by Thames Television, London, called The Agatha Christie Hour and most excitedly contains one short story Magnolia Blossom that up until press in 1984 had never been published before in the UK.

The stories are all excellent examples of Christie's cunning crime fiction with the usual domestic plots with dark undercurrents and a murder mystery to solve.

This is the true first edition by Agatha Christies longtime publisher Collins, there was a book club edition published around the same time, the book is offered here complete with the attractive Art Deco design dust jacket.

A nice bright vintage book that has been read but well looked after. There is a tiny lean to the right that this particular book seems prone to, otherwise in overall very good presentable condition and being a first edition would make a pleasing gift for an Agatha Christie fan.

The book contains ten thrilling short stories penned by Agatha Christie entitled as follows:

  • The Fourth Man
  • The Case of the Discontented Soldier
  • The Red Signal
  • The Girl in the Train
  • Magnolia Blossom
  • Jane in Search of a Job
  • In a Glass Darkly
  • The Case of the Middle-aged Wife
  • The Mystery of the Blue Jar

Perfect for a keen collector of Agatha Christie's sought after vintage books and rare first editions.

Condition Notes: EXCELLENT

VERY GOOD:

We carefully tailor all our condition notes to the actual book you see in the photographs so please read below:

This book is in very good vintage condition.

There are no previous owners inscriptions or any kind of graffiti all interior pages are bright and clean with just a little minor shelf wear to the outer text block.

Black cloth binding under the attractive art deco style dust jacket is in near perfect condition.

Spine Intact with titles visible and no apparent wear.

Excellent vintage collectible hardback book the only thing making me grade it as very good is the very slight lean forward that could quite possibly straighten out again on the bookshelf.

No price apparent on the jacket but this is definitely the 'Collins' dust jacket printed on the bottom of the spine.

Please remember this vintage book has been loved before and is not new condition is graded taking this into consideration.

*Vibrancy of item's photograph colours may vary due to your device screen or brightness settings.

Kittys Notes & Book Snippet

The highlight of the Agatha Christie Short Story Collection gathered here is the short story entitled 'Magnolia Blossom'.

This story, was first published in The Royal Magazine in March 1926 and later in 1971 the United States of America in a volume called 'The Golden Ball and Other Stories', The story was subsequently compiled and published in the U.S. as part of The Golden Ball and Other Stories in 1971.

The very first time the story was published in the UK was here in The Agatha Christie Hour, by Collins in 1982.

With Agatha's usual flair the murder mysteries roll on apace and make this entire collection an extremely enjoyable read for fans of her widely imitated 'whodunnit' genre.

A highly entertaining read for both Agatha Christie enthusiasts and all fans of classic nostalgic detective fiction.
