Vintage Penguin Paperback Inspector Maigret Inquest on Bouvet by Georges Simenon Crime Fiction

Maigret was on holiday when Monsieur Bouvet disconcerted everyone by falling dead as he was examining old prints at a booksellers stall beside the Seine.

A smart young American tourist photographed the body and sold the picture to a newspaper. And then the fun began as people recognised the dead man.

Madame Jeanne, knew very well that this was Rene Bouvet. Mrs Marsh swore he was her husband Samuel and intrigue followed.

A typically wonderful evocative Mid Century Crime tale set in the wonderfully atmospheric Paris of the 1950's era.

The matt boards are a little rubbed at the corners and slightly bumped at the top and bottom of the spine.

All the pages are sharp and clean with no messy graffiti of any kind but heavily tanned. Typical of paperbacks of this era due to the paper used in production.

Spine Intact with titles visible and minor wear and minimal creasing.

Pictorial Card Covers are firm and good with minimal scuffing. Original Price of 2'6 (Two shillings Sixpence) on front cover.
