The Story of Rosina and other Verses by Austin Dobson and illustrated by Hugh Thompson.

Beautiful, decorative antique book illustrated by sought after artist Hugh Thompson famed for illustrating Jane Austen novels. First Edition dated 1895. Hugh's line drawn illustrations of dainty Regency ladies are simply exquisite. The book has gorgeous gilt decoration to the front cover showing a pastoral scene in the style of Marie Antoinette. Told in verse the book is utterly charming.

Being an antique book it shows some age but is in very good and sound condition overall. Sweet inscription to the inside board in beautiful quaint pen and ink script: " Miss Richards, from Eric, Xmas 1904", adds a lovely sense of history to this quaint antique book. Was he a suitor? We will never know but what a romantic gift and enough to melt anyone's heart!

Perfect for collectors of Hugh Thomson's work, or simply stands alone as an exquisite antique book to grace your collector's bookshelf and perfect companion to vintage or antique Jane Austen books illustrated by Hugh Thomson.

VERY GOOD:

This is fresh from the attic in very good antique condition .

The deep scarlet red boards are the tiniest bit rubbed at and faded at the corners with slight bumping.

All the pages are firm with no messy graffiti of any kind except for the neat gift inscription and date on the inner front board.

Pages deckle edged and slightly tanned to extremities with some mild scattered occasional foxing throughout. Not badly foxed or musty still a very pleasant antique book just with slight and unavoidable signs of age in a book now over 125 years old.

Spine Intact with attractively embossed gilt titles visible with just a little fading to the cloth.

Exquisitely illustrated.
