Famous most of all for her "Famous Five" series of adventure stories Enid Blyton wrote so many wonderful vintage children's books it is hard to know where to begin.

There are lots of wonderful, lesser known, little book gems like this adorable story about two children and their rite of passage to keeping a little pet. As well as a valuable lesson about caring for animals and guarding against animal cruelty.

A very sweet story indeed, obviously set in the time frame of the 1950's when this story was originally written, if you like nostalgic children's literature and want to buy this book as a gift to share with your children or grandchildren this is a wonderful little vintage bedtime story that can be read chapter by chapter.

on their birthday ! Terry and Tessie had many lovely presents, but none of them quite made up for not having a kitten or a puppy.

This lovely old Enid Blyton Hardback Book with the origianl dust jacket comes to you in very good condition.

The dust jacket by Grace Lodge with the little white kitten is delightful if a bit rubbed and chipped to the extremities.

The lovely colour plate frontispiece often lost is still intact.

Fragile areas of the wrapper have been conserved with archival repair tape to preserve this precious dust jacket.

The light green board are very good with just some minor fading to the outer edges.

There is some mild age spotting (foxing) to the exterior of the text block but the interior pages are generally creamy bright and fresh with just a few small marks.

There is a previous owners name gift inscription in a childish hand to the first free endpaper.

Overall a very good and pleasing edition of this hard to find Vintage Enid Blyton Book.
