This charming children's book is profusely illustrated by Joel Stewart, who won multiple awards for his work on other vintage children's classics reimagined such as the tales of Hans Andersen as well as more modern works such as 'The Adventures of a nose' by Viviane Schwartz

This book was published in 2003 shortly after Joel won the Macmillan's prize for book illustration, and is a glorious excursion into the mind of Lewis Carroll beautifully reimagined with quirky little creatures and even a clockwork Jabberwocky!

Such fun even I love the illustrations as an adult, albeit a lifelong fan of Lewis Carroll's classic children's books so fairly inevitable really!
